SUMMER 2020 VISITS + PROGRAMS

2020 DIVISIONAL CAMP VISITS

Many of you have reached out about visits to Scatico when you are in the area, a testament to our strong camp community that we do not take for granted. To help facilitate coordination, we are excited to announce our 2020 Divisional Visit Days!

What’s a Divisional Visit Day? It’s something like a traditional Camp Visiting Day, but specific to divisions.

We will reach out to each division with more detailed information about their Visit Day and safety protocols as they approach, but the big picture ideas include:

  • We will welcome families to camp from 12 PM to 4 PM on their designated day(s)

  • Even though the Visit Days are co-ed, the programming will not be. We will send out a loose schedule leading up to your Visit Day.

  • It is expected that parents drive their children up and stay on site.

  • Lunch will be BYO picnic style, just like on Visiting Day.

  • We will not be screening families upon arrival, but will have specific protocols and guidelines in place, which will be communicated via email leading up to your Visit Day.

  • Based on guidelines, certain activity areas— the lake, ball fields, etc— will be open, while some games will be off limits.

  • We will properly sanitize all equipment, set up hand-washing stations, and have a lifeguard on duty.

  • All camper siblings are welcome, but unfortunately extended family and grandparents are not. If siblings do come we will not be running separate activities for them. We expect siblings to stay with their parents.

  • We also welcome families to visit camp earlier in the summer on their own time, more information on that below.

INDIVIDUAL FAMILY VISITS

Families can also come by camp at their own convenience, please just email info@scatico.com if you’d like to do so, so that we can welcome you! And please keep in mind that:

  • Parents need to drive up their children, and stay on-site. There aren’t counselors running activities!

  • We will be enforcing whatever social distancing guidelines are in place at the time, so while some activity areas will be open, some may be off limits.

  • Our kitchen is closed! So if you do want to have a picnic lunch, please bring your own food.

  • Please save joint plans with other camp families for the Divisional Visit Days. We want to avoid carpooling, and excluding any members of a division.

VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING

As June 27 (would-be Opening Day) approaches, we will be launching some virtual programming to bring the magic of Scatico to our community, even as we’re apart. Lots more details to come, but a sneak peek of some plans include:
